Youth Christmas party downtown Seattle (18)
Lauren, Angel, Megan, Dan, Gary, Cathy ventured by bus to downtown Seattle. Some had never sat in the middle turning space on an articulated bus. We went to Seattle center food court for lunch, then onto the ice skating rink! Several hadn't been on ice skates before and learned how to get around the rink without to many falls! There was an ice sculpture working on a piece. I (Cathy) convinced them to join me on the Carousel. Then off we went by Monorail to see the Gingerbread house exhibit. A street Santa shared a picture with us even in the rain! A great adventure was had by all! -

Youth Neighborhood Food Drive (4)
Youth took out notices to the neighborhood last Sunday. The notice asked the neighbors to leave food out the next Sunday and they would pick it up for the local food bank. Here is the food they picked up along with food brought in by our members. Just in time for Thanksgiving meals for our neighbors who are needy. -

Youth Urban Camp out (12)
The youth camped in the McKee back yard. They used tarps to fashion dry sleeping space in the Seattle rain. Yes, it rained a bunch but in the morning everyone was dry! They visited the sculpture garden in Seattle, flew kites on "kite hill" at Gasworks park, scavenger hunted at Carkeek park....all in very heavy rains! Cooked everything on the camp fire. Ask the youth about orange eggs & muffins on the fire! When given the option of sleeping inside they just added onto the tarps to take care of the blowing rain. Mary & Tanya shared worship and dessert with us Saturday evening. Even got everyone to church on time for worship! Good times shared together as a youth group. -
Thea the Chef (4)
Preparing to attend the Elders' August potluck, Miss Thea not only picked the blackberries, but also baked the pie and modeled her fashionable chef's hat and apron. (Okay, maybe Mom helped a little bit.) -

Food bank Barrel (1)
Everyone who attended church on Sunday July 11 donated their hand drawings to decorate the Food Bank Barrel. We will fill the barrel and on August 6 the food bank will weigh the foods to see which organization donated the most by weight. We encourage everyone to bring in "meal in a can" or "protein in a can" since these are the most needed for distribution. Bring your food and lend your HAND to feed the hungry in our area. -
