If you would like to learn more, talk with Verginia Visser, Tim Hall, Evelyn Leckron, all weekly food bank volunteers. Disciples of Christ Coffee Project
with Equal Exchange

For many months now, our youth have been selling products from Equal Exchange,a fair trade company . In addition, we as a congregation use Equal Exchange coffee and tea in our fellowship time. We’ve just learned that Week of Compassion and Disciples Home Mission have entered into a partnership with Equal Exchange, in a project called "Disciples of Christ Coffee Project." hoping to encourage congregations, organizations, and individuals to learn more about fair trade practices and how our choices as consumers affect the global economy. We are now able to support small farmers around the world directly.

For every pound of fairly traded products that we as a denomination buy, EE will make a donation back to the "Disciples Hunger Relief and Food Security Fund" -- this partnership is a win-win-win-win situation all around!

Rosehedge
Who is our neighbor? Just around the corner from our church, on 15th Ave. NE, are two adjacent houses operated by Rosehedge. Founded in 1988, Rosehedge offers 24- hour assisted living services for people with AIDS. Recently, their staff contacted Dalene to ask if there would be folks from our congregation interested in volunteering. Dalene took the request to the last Elder meeting. At the meeting a number of Elders expressed interest in volunteering at Rosehedge and offering it as one of our opportunities for ministry. Rosehedge’s volunteer needs include: companionship, transportation, activities, administration, grounds and maintenance and leadership. Time may include an hour a month or week. To learn more about Rosehedge, take a look at their brochure on our bulletin board under “Lake City Christian Church: Ministry Opportunities”.

Yakama Mission Clothes Closet needs donations
Greetings from the Yakama Mission! We could use some help in filling the shelves of our “Clothes Closet”. New and gently used clothing for men, women, and children are needed, as well as health kits and school supplies. Thank you in advance for supporting your Mission.
(Clothes may be brought to Lake City Christian to be delivered by Dalene at the next Yakama Board meeting.)
