Outreach
We are active in the community in a variety of ways, such as: Supporting North Helpline, volunteering at the Lake City Food Bank, monthly meals for the homeless, and organizing and staffing an emergency cold weather shelter.
Hosting Mary's Place Shelter for Women & Children
We will host a shelter for moms and children Tuesday, December 13-20th. We are working through Mary’s Place, a drop-in center for homeless women and children in downtown Seattle. The need for shelter for women and children is urgent and we are part of the solution!
Mary’s Place has seen a 186% increase in homeless moms with children since January 2011. In August they saw nearly one new homeless mom with a child each day. It takes a mom with a child three to four weeks to find shelter.
We will provide transportation for a maximum of 14 individuals (moms and kids) to and from the Bell town drop-in center. We are asked to provide a nutritious hot supper, a place to sleep and a continental breakfast. We’ll need volunteers to cook, drive, stay overnight, provide breakfast, and do laundry. We plan to house the families in the east wing of our building. All volunteers will need to be screened via a free web site. There will be training for all volunteers on November 16th at 7pm.

CROP WALK 2011
Thank you Team Lake City Christian Church walkers. What a great day for walking around the lake! As of walk day we have $645.00 donated both online and in person. I'm sure more will be donated in the next several weeks. Our team was small this year but was full of Heart.
Thanks to all who walked, donated and collected money for this much needed program!
